Teething Ring

Imagine your baby smiling through the teething process and growing up with a beautiful smile and solid teeth. Yes, it is quite probable if you use teething rings. They help to lessen the uneasiness and pain of baby teething. These rings are preferred over teething gels and teething biscuits because those increase the risk that the baby might digest too much sugar.

These tools have been around for thousands of years and were documented for the first time in Sumerian Sandstone tablets some 3000 years ago. In the 16th century, mothers’ used candy sticks and in the 17th and 18th century, gum sticks and gum rings were used. In 19th century, parents used silver spoons to ease the teething process of their babies. This is where the expression “born with a silver spoon in his mouth” came from. Later, rubber was used in teething rings but they had a problem of containing lead, which was dangerous for the baby.

Teething rings has been through an extensive process of evolution and are present in various types today. These rings are hygienic, which means they are safe and will not put your baby’s health at risk, and they are used throughout the world. Some rings are made up of firm rubber while others contain water which is to be refrigerated before use. Silver rings are also available which can also be chilled before using.

Here are a couple of quick tips. These rings should be cooled in the refrigerator before using, but they should not ever be frozen as it could damage your baby’s gums. If the water filled ring leaks, then it should be thrown away immediately. Teething rings should be washed after every use to remove any germs.

And here are a few things to avoid doing. These products should never be frozen and never be boiled nor placed in the dishwasher. Teething ring should never be shared with other babies. All these things should be kept in mind to avoid unnecessary germ exposure and risk to your baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
Under The Nile Bumble Bee Ring - I got this teething ring for my baby girl a month ago when she was 3 and 1/2 months old. Her ability to grab and hold on to this toy has vastly improved over the past few weeks. It's design makes it easy for her to grab with both hands. It's such a joy to see her little face light up when I hand her the bumble bee! She loves it!!! It's cotton and washable and gentle on her gums. I would highly recommend this toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Favorite And Safe Toy For Our Daughter
Kringelring - For some reason, this toy captivates our daughter - she does mouth it a lot (hence I am glad it is non toxic - as I think every infant toy should be!) but she also just likes to turn it over in her hands, look at the colors, play with the rings. Who would have thought something so simple would be so intriguing but it works!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great--Meant For A Child That Can Hold Items In Hand For Long Periods Of Time
Green Sprouts Ring Cool Soothing Teether - This is the nicest ring I have ever seen for BPA free and water only filled. Very nice and useful product! Hard to describe but every smaller circle has an abrasion on it and helps with the teething process for a child. (Bumps for little gums to chew on in other words)I bought this along with the stacking cups (meant for 6 months plus putting them away for him) and the keys. So far my child loves the keys more than the ring cool soothing teether. I am sure in time he will love this item as well. He is only four months old and this is a little heavy for him to hold currently. I love that it's only made out of water and is BPA free!

UPDATE-- NINE MONTHS OLD

my child loves this teether so much I am buying another one. We have the apple teether made by a different company. He doesn't care for that one as much. The apple teether over time seems like there is not enough water. I am buying another one of the green sprout ones because I want one in the fridge at all times and the water in the teether is lasting a very long time for as much as it's been bit on and stuck in the fridge. The teether is going strong!

The Green Sprout stacking cups are a big hit in the tub! They have holes in the bottom of them and shapes that I know I will use with my child in the future for sand and possibly art projects!
